About Nina
After growing up in Chicago, Nina moved to Boston in 1992. There she pursued her love of fashion while working at the ultra-upscale clothing boutique Riccardi on Newbury Street. While at Riccardi’s, Nina was inspired by runway models’ hairstyles of such designers as Comme Des Garcons and Martin Margiela. As a result, she decided to enter into the art of hair. After completing hairdressing school, Nina furthered her training apprenticing at the world renowned Vidal Sassoon, Boston. In 1996 Nina joined Salon Mario Russo at Louis, Boston and styled hair for runway shows, print, and editorial publications. Nina also styled the hair of many Boston celebrities.
To perfect her trade as a master cutter and colorist, Nina attended an intense advance course in London, England by one of the worlds’ top educators in the industry, Toni and Guy. Most recently, Nina completed training at the L’Oreal Academy for advanced color techniques and Devacurl in New York City. Nina felt a need for a world class salon in Worcester and opened SALON NINA RAFFAELLA in April 2008. Nina received a B.A. in psychology from Clark University and currently lives in Worcester.
